Manchester Codes is the UK’s original part-time coding school, and currently the only one that covers full-stack software development (both front-end and back-end). We will take you from having little or no prior coding experience (apart from 15-20 hours of free material we ask you to study upon applying), and over the course of 24 intense weeks we cover all of the fundamentals required for you to be able to obtain an entry-level Software Development role.
We launched at the start of 2017 with the ambition of offering a more flexible and affordable coding education - one which encourages applications from everybody, regardless of their background or circumstance. In this time we've continously updated our curriculum to ensure we always meet employer demand, and that we are able to cater for all of our students.
We welcome applications from everybody. Our aim is to make coding accessible for as many people as possible, so we strongly encourage applications from: underrepresented groups who might not consider a career in tech as a viable option for them; those who can’t afford to quit their full-time jobs; and those who have other commitments such as parents, carers etc. We exist to help decrease the digital skills gap and lack of diversity within the tech industry.
We thrive to keep our price lower than other full-time coding bootcamps and University courses – this is because we believe everybody should have the chance to career-change into tech regardless of circumstance, and that you shouldn't have to pay off an education for life. As part of our efforts to encourage more women into the tech industry, we also offer a 10% discount to all female applicants.
We will provide you with lectures given by experienced developers, bespoke and detailed walkthroughs, and a learning environment reflective of the workplace, where you can work on projects with others. We will go the extra mile to help you achieve your goals - whether that be an entry-level Software Developer position, or that first step towards launching your own start-up - but you will need to be willing work hard to get there. As such, the course is very intense - you will need to be ready to invest 20+ hours a week on top of your other commitments – we can guide you, but your development is ultimately down to you.
